Beginning in January, for each High School basketball game this season, you will be required to show a certain ticket at the gate to enter the arena. Governor Stitt put out an executive order saying that there can only be four fans per participant in the arena. If you do not receive a ticket from a participant, there will be extra available in the Superintendent’s office. You can stop by and pick them up, or call 756-3131 to reserve one the day of the game. Tickets can’t be reserved or handed out until the day of the game. We want as many fans in the stands as possible, so please notify the school if you can’t attend so someone else can use your ticket. If there are extra tickets, they will be available at the gate of our Lindsay home games only. Very sorry for the inconvenience. Any questions, please feel free to call Tom Ferguson at 756-3133.

We have 3 weeks before our next holiday break, these 3 weeks will be very beneficial to the education of our students. Starting Monday we will be asking all employees, middle school, and high school students to wear masks. We will also be asking everyone to wear a mask when attending our extra-curricular events. At this point we will go to great lengths to keep our school open. Your patience and help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Dan Chapman

Superintendent’s Article 11-13-2020 Greetings to all our Lindsay School Patrons. This school year has started out with 13 weeks of near normalcy and all of a sudden we have been uprooted by the Covid-19 virus. In an attempt to make sure we are all on the same page, I am sending out an informative letter covering several different topics. COVID: As of 11-8-2020, we had 0 positive tests in the elementary, 5 in the middle school, 13 in the high school for a total of 18. After that point, we have received numerous positive tests and many students quarantined due to contact tracing. In addition, we have had up to 11 staff members out due to positive cases or quarantined due to contact tracing. At times we have had as many as 125 students out due to the virus, with students returning daily as well. It has become very apparent to me that distancing our students as much as possible is imperative. Because of the spread of the virus we went to distance learning on 11-12-2020. As of right now we plan to return to in-person learning on November 30, 2020. This situation will continue to be monitored over Thanksgiving Break and an announcement will be made on November 25 concerning a possible extension of our distance learning. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: During the last few weeks we have cancelled numerous student activities to avoid exposure; however we are attempting to still offer all our current extra-curricular activities. In order for us to be successful, we are asking our patrons to wear a mask for indoor activities as well as our remaining outdoor events. SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: During this time period of distance learning, all faculty and staff will be working their contract hours at the school. Our teachers will be continuing the education process through Google Meet and Acellus. We are much better prepared than we were last spring, but we are experiencing unexpected difficulties at this time. Please be patient with us as we work through these issues. CHILD NUTRITION: Currently we are running bus routes to deliver food to our rural students. We have setup 4 drop off locations in the city limits or you can pick up food at the school. Through federal funding, all of our students 18 and younger are eating for free. Not only is this a great opportunity for all of our families but this also is very beneficial to funding our nutritional program. In order to setup food delivery for your children, please contact the school at 405-756-3131. COMMUNICATION: To ensure that the information you receive is correct when dealing with the school, you can depend on our school website, Facebook page, or our school’s Leopard app; as well as KBLP radio, The Lindsay News or The Shopper. If I can be of further assistance or can answer other questions, give me a call at 405-756-3131. Sincerely, Dan Chapman

Due to the overwhelming amount of students off campus being quarantined, we will start distance learning Thursday, November 12th. Teachers are preparing students today for materials/chrome books they will need during our time off campus. Teachers and staff will be here from 8:00-3:30 M-F through November 20th to answer any questions about distance learning. Breakfast and lunch will still be provided if needed. We will send more information about our meal program at the end of the day. As of right now we plan to resume in person learning on November 30th. If for some reason during the Thanksgiving break the number of positive cases has not declined, we may extend the distance learning time frame. As you know, the Covid 19 cases in our community have been on the rise the last few weeks. We understand the concerns from our patrons and during this unpredictable time in our community, we feel it is in the best interest of our high school and middle school students to begin wearing masks starting Thursday November 12th. We want our school to continue to be able to offer onsite learning and extra-curricular activities; we feel masks will help us achieve this goal. We know you want this pandemic to end – we do as well. It’s going to take all of us doing our part to stop the virus. It might seem like a little action that doesn’t make much of a difference. But little actions build up – and they become big changes that have big impacts. Thank you for your understanding during this ever changing situation. Sincerely, Dan Chapman

Lindsay Patrons: As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we have worked hard to develop a plan that focuses on the health and safety of our students, teachers and staff. The Return to School plan is outlined on our school website with education options, new procedures and enhanced safety protocols that were designed to meet the unique needs of our students and their families. We will undoubtedly face challenges this school year. We will continue to put children first and make decisions we believe are in the best interest of our students, teachers and staff. And, if we continue to work collaboratively, speak with kindness, respect differing viewpoints and demonstrate civility and grace, we will get through this together. Lindsay School Patrons: On Monday, June 29th we had one of our student athletes test positive for Covid 19. The parents of the student were very up front and wanted to do everything possible to make sure our other students were not exposed. The student will self-quarantine for the next 14 days. After consulting with medical professionals we have decided to close all of our facilities until July 6th. We plan to continue our cleaning routines and the spray misting of our facilities to eliminate viruses. This will also allow time for Covid testing of our students if the parent/guardian chooses this route. The health and safety of our students is still and always will be our top priority. If you have further concerns give me a call at 405-756-3131. Sincerely, Dan Chapman

Lindsay School Patrons, At the present time the Lindsay School administration is promoting and hoping for a traditional school setting using the calendar that has been approved by the Board of Education. However, we have been proactive in purchasing advanced software packages that can be utilized to educate our students in a variety of settings. We will be prepared with special training already being scheduled. We are also preparing for all safety precautions that will need to be taken. The safety of our students is our top priority! The Class of 2020 graduation ceremony will be held on Burford Field at 10:00 a.m. on July 11th. The graduates will be seated in the home grandstands and all patrons are invited to bring lawn chairs and use the field, track, and visitor's bleachers to sit and enjoy the ceremony. We plan to place approximately 200 chairs out to accommodate some of our guests. Social distancing will be encouraged and masks will be available at the entrance for anybody interested. We anticipate a large crowd, but there will be plenty of room for all. Let's make this a special day for our graduates. Sincerely, Dan Chapman

Lindsay School Patrons, This morning the State Board of Education voted to close school buildings for the remainder of the year and resume the school year on April 6th with remote learning. The Board also recommended districts end the school year during the week of May 8th through May 15th. At this time the administration of Lindsay Schools is making plans to provide the best possible education for our students for the remainder of this school year. Each student will be contacted by their grade level principal concerning plans being developed. The success of a student will not be dependent on internet accessibility. We regret many school activities have been negatively affected. I realize many are concerned about future events, including graduation. We hope to be able to celebrate graduation on the scheduled date. We are monitoring the situation and will provide information as soon as we are able.

Although the State Department of Education is instructing districts not to offer instructional services through April 6, we would like to offer a collection of high-quality, interactive resources for your child during this transition. The resources can be found on our school website Coronavirus Information/Instructional Resources under the Explore Section. Again, these resources are optional. We are all in this together, and we all want what is best for our students.
