Lindsay Public Schools invites local veterans, currently serving military members, and their families to join the district on November 11 for a special Veterans Day celebration honoring those who have served and continue to serve our country.
The morning will begin at 10 a.m. at Lindsay Elementary School with a “Meet a Veteran” gathering. Coffee and donuts will be served as veterans, active-duty service members, and their families have an opportunity to visit and connect with students and staff.
At 11 a.m., a Veterans Day Assembly will be held in the Lindsay High School auditorium. The program will recognize local veterans and currently serving military members and educate students about the significance of Veterans Day and why our nation observes this important holiday. Performances by the Handchimes class and the Pride of Lindsay Band will also be featured.
A special highlight of the assembly will be the presentation of a quilt created by the Lindsay FCCLA group. The quilt will be presented to a local veteran as a meaningful gesture of appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
Reserved seating will be available at the front of the auditorium for veterans, currently serving military members, and their families.
Lindsay Public Schools looks forward to honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country and expressing gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice.
