Due to schools having to cancel because of the weather, the 6th Grade Lindsay Basketball Tournament has been canceled this week.
Yesterday the district was notified that a middle school teacher has tested positive for Covid-19. This teacher, along with family members has agreed to self-quarantine for 14 days. The teachers last day of attendance was Friday, October 23rd. Lindsay Public Schools is working closely with public health officials to address the situation and while we must protect the privacy of the person involved, we are committed to communicating transparently with our staff, families and community so that you can make well-informed decisions. Picture retakes and class pictures will be offered on Thursday, October 8th, this is for the Elementary and Junior High.
High school picture retakes are tomorrow, Oct 5th. This will include Senior panel pictures. If you missed the original picture day, you are able to take a picture at this time.
Just a reminder that the elementary will be having Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, September 29th and Thursday, October 1st, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. There will not be school on Friday, October 2nd.
Lindsay Elementary would like to thank our local Walmart for working closely with us to receive the Walmart Local Community Grant. This program is a great help to our local school and community. Since we were fortunate to receive this grant we will be able to purchase needed supplies for learning centers and student projects. Lindsay Elementary thanks the Lindsay Walmart and the Walmart Headquarters for making this grant possible.

On Friday, September 11, 2020 the High School Lindsay vs. Washington football game will kick off at 7:00 pm at Washington.
The Child Nutrition program would like to announce the USDA has extended the SSO program to December 31, 2020. The extension of the SSO Program will allow schools to serve meals to ALL students at NO COST, regardless of income status or free and reduced lunch qualifications. In addition, parents or guardians can pick up meals for their children on the virtual program. We are offering breakfast and lunch at no charge to any child age 18 and under in the household. The meals will be available for pick-up at the elementary car line from 11:00-11:30 am each school day. Please remain in your car and the meals will be brought to you. If you are interested in picking up a meal for your virtual student or younger children, please contact our office at 405-756-3131 or Melissa Randol at mrandol@lindsay.k12.ok.us to sign up for the meals. Picture Day is still on, for the Elementary. The photographer has arrived. We will have retakes later this fall, so nobody should be missed. Please enter through the Elementary Office, due to the rain we have had to make some adjustments to the location. School staff will direct any virtual students when arrival is confirmed. Reserved tickets are now on sale in the superintendents office. This ticket serves as your entrance into the game as well as having your seat reserved for each home game. Tickets are $50 per seat.
Elementary and Middle School pictures will be held on Tuesday, September 1st. Virtual Students can come to the Heatly Gym in the high school from 12pm-1pm to have their picture taken. Reserved football tickets are now on sale in the superintendent’s office for $50.00 each. If you had reserved tickets last year, they will be held until August 21th at 3:00 p.m. If you no longer want your reserved seats, please contact the superintendent’s office at 756-3131. Any seats not picked up by August 21st will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24th.
Quick Answers for Virtual Elementary Students.
Open House will be on Monday, from 5-7 p.m. for last names beginning A-J and on Tuesday, the 11th, for last names K-Z.
If there is more than one student in the family use the last name of the older sibling.
Open House is for all students enrolled in Lindsay Elementary and the immediate parent/guardian, please refrain from bringing extra family members.
Electronic devices for Virtual Learning will be available for pick up on Tuesday, the 11th, from 1-3 pm.
Students that are doing Virtual Learning may receive breakfast and or lunch, the pick-up times will be available at a later date.
Student schedules will be released electronically on Friday the 7th.
How to videos will be posted and emailed soon, hopefully by Friday the 7th.
The electronic devices will have a user agreement sheet, to be signed at pick up.
The adult picking up the electronic device will sign the agreement.
Students will follow the daily lesson plan, it is not governed by a set time limit. The virtual lessons are regulated and the student works at their own pace.
A teacher will monitor student progress and parental concerns may be directed to this teacher.
